Hollywood Fans Get Connected

Hemet, CA (PRWEB) February 14, 2007

The Internet has radically altered the way movie fans learn about their favorite films and then communicate that information with each other. Film web sites have now exploded into a veritable kaleidoscope of public bulletin boards, cinema-based social networking groups and highly opinionated movie lover blogs.

Most recently, at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, there were a record number of fan-side folks blogging from Park City, Utah. No longer do movie lovers have to wait for Ebert & Roeper on a Sunday night or the Friday entertainment section of their local newspaper. Film appreciation is a 24/7 self-serve proposition, with cell phones coming up from the rear to further fuel this revolutionary fire.

FilmStew.com, a Hollywood based film and entertainment portal, has taken fan appreciation to a new level with their Project Tracker where fans can be notified anytime their favorite stars are attached to movie projects. FilmStew Chairman, John Culton, explains, “Fans and cinephiles alike can use the Project Tracker system not only to know what their favorite stars are doing, but to follow the filmmaking progress from development through production to completion.

FilmStew is also known for its edgy content and blogs.

“Through our blogs, ‘Hollywood Spin’ and ‘In Hollywood’, FilmStew is able to offer movie fans unique perspectives on the goings on of Tinseltown,” explains Richard Horgan, Director of Content for FilmStew.com. “One is a highly opinionated take on the latest movie topics and trends, while the other is written more from the day-to-day POV of a journalist working in the entertainment journalism trenches.”

“Readers have the ability to share with us their comments and reactions to each item,” he continues. “It’s the way they have become used to interacting with the Internet, and in many cases their observations add a whole new perspective to what is being covered.”

Other digital tools such as FilmStew’s Contact Directory provide further access to filmmakers and filmmaking. “Contact Directory isn’t exactly a fan tool, but for the twenty million film workers worldwide it’s a must have.” says Culton, “It provides contact data and in many instances who represents the producer, writer, or talent.”

International Speedway Corp. and Digitaria Launch New Web Site to Help Daytona 500 Fans ‘Feel the Experience’ of Racing’s Biggest Event

San Diego, CA, and Daytona Beach, FL (PRWEB) February 10, 2009

Digitaria Sports, a division of Digitaria, a leading digital marketing and technology firm, and International Speedway Corp. (Nasdaq: ISCA) (OTC Bulletin Board: ISCB) (“ISC”), a leading promoter of motorsports activities, today announced the launch of a new online destination and resource for race fans at Daytona International Speedway.

The new site at DaytonaInternationalSpeedway.com contains all the information race fans need to enjoy the Daytona 500, scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 15. The site is aimed at helping fans both ‘feel the experience’ of NASCAR’s biggest event, as well as provide a valuable resource. The site features extensive online video and multimedia content, exclusive news and information, driver features, camping and parking information, seating charts, the ability to buy tickets, and much more.

“We’re excited to launch this new online resource for our race fans,” said Daytona International Speedway President Robin Braig. “Daytona 500 fans will be able to get all the news and information they need, whether they’re going to the race, or just watching from home. In addition, the site is a must-see destination in advance of our other prestigious events such as the Daytona 200 Week By Honda and the Coke Zero 400 Weekend Powered By Coca-Cola.”

The new Daytona International Speedway site is the first of 12 new track sites that [Digitaria is building for ISC as part of long-term digital strategy designed to engage fans and generate more incremental sales. Each track site will serve as a year-round resource for all racing events held at that venue.

“Our goal for each of these sites is to help recreate the unique experience on the track, as well as provide an ongoing resource for race fans,” said John Van Spyk, general manager of [Digitaria Sports, which caters exclusively to sports organizations worldwide. “We are proud to work with the ISC and look forward to seeing fans enjoy these new sites.”
