Samsung Releases a Line of HDBaseT-enabled Commercial HD Displays

Las Vegas (PRWEB) January 07, 2014

Samsung Electronics America, Inc., a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., together with the HDBaseT Alliance today announced the addition of HDBaseT to select models of Samsung’s large format display product (LFD) line. With the introduction of the new HDBaseT plug-in module, LFD installations become significantly simpler and less costly.

HDBaseT technology, powered by the Valens chipset, enables all-in-one connectivity between HD video sources and remote displays through a single 100m/328ft CAT5e/6 cable, delivering uncompressed high definition video, audio, Ethernet, control signals and up to 100 watts of power. The HDBaseT Alliance will showcase the HDBaseT Receiver on Samsung’s new ME75C full HD display at its booth, LVCC South Hall 1 #20215.

“HDBaseT provides our customers with a connectivity solution that significantly reduces the time and money required to complete the job when compared to other typical cabling options,” said Thomas Evans, Director of Marketing – Professional Display at Samsung’s Enterprise Business Division. “Using HDBaseT for digital signage is an industry game changer that enables professional installers to complete their projects on-time and on-budget.”

HDBaseT has become a global standard for installing digital displays in conference rooms and board rooms. HDBaseT eliminates cabling distance limitations by delivering uncompressed video, audio, control and Ethernet up to 100 meters. Avoiding video compression ensures installers do not have to sacrifice high image quality and delivery speed, and using a standard CAT5e/6 twisted-pair LAN cable with regular RJ-45 connectors makes in-field termination simple and fast.

“The commitment Samsung has shown to advancing the development and deployment of HDBaseT has been strong since Day 1, and today that commitment is stronger than ever,” said Micha Risling, marketing chair of the HDBaseT Alliance. “Since co-founding the HDBaseT Alliance in 2007, Samsung has both helped grow the Alliance to nearly 80 members made up of the world’s leading A/V manufacturers and led the development of HDBaseT-enabled components for professionals and consumers.”

The ME75C is part of the ME – C Series and is a slim, lightweight 75 inch display that supports the new HDBaseT plug-in module. It is also a reliable and cost-effective way to convey a more impactful message in retail environments, conference rooms, public spaces and educational venues. The ME75C provides increased energy savings over CCFL backlit displays with a thin chassis and narrow bezel to help simplify installation and provide an impactful message.

The new HDBaseT plug-in module, PIM-HDBT, will be available with compatible Samsung LFDs at the end of February 2014. For more information, please visit the product page Samsung PIM-HDBT.

Smart Media Technologies Releases a Great New Tool for Home School Parents and Students

Henderson, Nevada (PRWEB) March 18, 2013

Smart Media Technologies releases new features to Home Page Pays that help those who choose Homeschooling over traditional schooling. While Homeschooling has its benefits it also has some negative aspects to it as well and SMT offers a no cost solution to each of them. According to NHERI National Home Education Research Institute “Homeschooling – home education or home-based education – has grown from nearly extinct in the United States in the 1970’s to now about 2 million school-age students.”

For parents looking to completely opt-out of the traditional education model finding a quality curriculum for students can normally be a very costly endeavor. With HPP parents now have access to over 2,200 video classes to offer to their children. Parents can find everything from basic educational classes to advanced university classes from Stanford and Yale. HPP also offers prep courses for college entrance exams as well as computer education classes and these are offered to students worldwide at absolutely no cost.

HPP offers different ways for parents and students to connect with others with common goals and interests from anywhere in the world. There are many benefits to this including the ability to unite for political reasons. They can also share educational ideas or even plan trips and offer student exchange programs. If they are not part of a community they can join one, and if there is not one for what they feel passionate about they can create one. Those who might be thinking of Homeschooling can connect with others who already do to learn more about it.

Through Home Page Pays parents have the opportunity to offer things to their children that they may feel their children are missing out on like social events or even sports teams and it is global so the possibilities are endless. There is even a special place to make a “call out” to the entire community where someone could say “I am looking for home school parents in Ohio” or “I am forming a softball league for Homeschooled students in Texas.” The possibilities are only limited by people’s imaginations.

Home Page Pays can even be used for fundraising for different projects. Anyone can choose to purchase and brand their own version of HPP and they can create special content if they choose to and by giving the special branded version away the owner earns a percentage of money whenever any of those people are online. And they also earn off of the people that any of those people give it to so the fundraising capability is actually unlimited. The money that they earn does not come from the students themselves but from the advertisers on HPP in the same way that actors are paid by advertisers when they do television shows. Everything on HPP is completely funded by advertisers from around the world.

Students can also socialize and play games with their friends and even hold competitions against others in their own community or other communities. They also have the ability to communicate in many different ways not available anywhere else through things like Smart Mail which unlike traditional email is 100% safe, secure, spam free and deliverable and communicate live as well through Smart Chat and socialize through Smart Chirp. Smart Chirp is a unique kind of social network where people can share thoughts, pictures and videos with all their contacts which is more like a social gathering rather than a social bulletin board which is common to most social networks.

Retail Customer Experience Releases Consumer Survey Results on Mobile Retail Apps

Louisville, KY (PRWEB) April 08, 2014

Pity the poor retailer: Just when they adapt to one disruptive technology, another comes forward to make them rethink their tactics yet again.

The most recent paradigm-shifter is the mobile application, and many retail executives still struggle to understand how to incorporate them into their user experience—or whether they should even bother.

The questions are worth asking. According to information technology research firm Gartner, mobile apps will have been downloaded 268 billion times by 2017. They will have generated $ 77 billion in revenue for their deployers. And users will be providing streams of personalized data to more than 100 apps and services a day — whether they know they are doing so or not.

Hoping to help retailers survive and thrive in the mobile app world, Retail Customer Experience and sister site Mobile Payments Today have published “Mobile Retail Apps and the Engaged Consumer.”

The 59-page report includes sections on best practices, commentaries by some of the leading minds in mobile retail applications, a directory of providers from multiple countries and of special interest, a survey of 1,000 consumers about their habits, preferences and recommendations when it comes to mobile apps in the retail space.

“Some of the results were really surprising to me,” said report author Joseph Grove, a veteran B2B journalist and former senior vice president and executive editor for the publisher of Retail Customer Experience. “For example, I didn’t expect to be the case that men were more likely than women to be heavy users of mobile retail apps, or that pharmacies would show up so strongly as a popular app category.”

The report includes data on mobile wallet and Passbook adoption, consumer concerns regarding mobile app data security, used and desired functionalities, and frustrations. The download of the report includes jpegs of many of the almost 70 charts and graphs, which readers have permission to share with co-workers or apply in presentations.

Commentaries include:

Mike Wittenstein, founder, Storyminers. ”The Push for Sophistication Must Drive Value, Function”
Chris McClain, executive vice president, Americas Strategic Industries, SAP. “Unlocking the Power of Mobile in Retail”
Jason Goldberg, vice president, Razorfish. “Mobile Apps Can Pay Off Big”
Jack Philbin, founder/CEO, Vibes. ”How to Ensure a Symbiotic Mobile Marketing Strategy.”

“Some of most common questions and popular stories are about retail mobile applications and how our readers can be successful with them. This report goes a long way to providing answers,” said James Bickers, senior editor of Retail Customer Experience.

AV Programming Associates Releases Their First Book Entitled Our Code: History, Practices and Processes of AVPA

Carlsbad, CA (PRWEB) April 01, 2014

AV Programming Associates, Inc. (AVPA) today announced the release of their first book, entitled Our Code: History, Practices and Processes of AVPA. The self-published book is a collection of stories, lessons learned, business best practices and historic insights. After more than thirteen years as President of AVPA, Matthew Grisafe wrote Our Code as a means to illuminate the company’s history and provide a backdrop to AVPA’s current processes and thinking.

“The lessons we’ve learned over the years are applicable to nearly all small businesses, not just Crestron programmers or those in the professional audiovisual industry,” said Matthew Grisafe, President of AVPA. “Some of the topics covered include the founding of AVPA, our experience launching a new venture on September 11th, 2001 and some of the attitudes we believe a successful business should maintain.”

“We employ well-established processes, and customers often ask why we stick to them. We’re obviously not perfect, but we know what works and how to avoid pitfalls as we navigate projects. The book hopefully provides a context for those processes, a background that helps people understand how we got where we are, and where we’d like to go moving forward. Almost every chapter includes a personal story that explains some of the challenges we’ve faced. We avoided being preachy, but the book offers insights that should be relevant to small business owners of all types. In that way, I expect Our Code may be both an interesting and useful read for a broad audience.”
